    • 3 External feelers (2 inch, 4 inch, and 6 inch)
    • Restraining arm
    • Protective storage case

Important Operating Notes

The Blake Coaxial Indicator is designed as a centering instrument and should not be used as a direct measuring device. The indicator is intended to locate spindle center by comparing movement across the diameter being indicated.

For best performance:

  • Operate      at moderate spindle speeds
  • Verify      proper feeler contact before spindle rotation
  • Use      under normal machine operating conditions
  • Avoid      excessive shock or impact

Designed for Machine Shop Performance

The Blake Co-Ax Indicator is suitable for:

  • Manual milling machines
  • CNC equipment
  • Tool room applications
  • EDM machines with spindle chuck/collet for aligning
  • Horizontal and vertical spindle setups

Its quality construction and precision movement make it a trusted setup tool for machinists requiring reliable centering performance.

* +/- .0002" positional accuracy is verified at the factory under optimal conditions. Needle must be perfectly still under power for maximum accuracy.

** .0005" applies when used with 2" feeler and diameter being measured is 2 inches.  For dial graduations for other configurations see table at bottom of this page.

Additional NOTES

The Blake COAXIAL INDICATOR is a centering device. It requires a reading of both sides of the bore or boss in each axis, to arrive at the center. Its sole function is to find center. It is NEVER to be used as a measuring instrument.

You cannot certify the COAXIAL INDICATOR on a surface plate. It must be put in a spindle of a machine that it would normally be used in and indicate a precision ring or plug. Then remove it and use a .0001 indicator to check that your are on center.

The CO-AX INDICATOR is made to be used under power. When checking the CO-AX position with a test indicator, the spindle should be rotated manually for both indicators due to the fact that spindle torque under power on some machines will give a different reading for center.
